🌲 Early Access, Big Adventures & Mountain Property Dreams

One of the biggest stories in Ogden Valley this year has been the unusually mild winter. While many recreation areas would normally still be working through lingering snowpack, trails, reservoirs, and mountain roads opened up much earlier than usual. That has meant more time on the water, more weekends exploring the backcountry, and more people discovering the recreational properties that make Northern Utah such a special place to call home.

Whether you're paddleboarding at Causey Reservoir, spending a day at Pineview, or scouting land for your future cabin getaway, 2026 is shaping up to be a great year to enjoy everything the mountains have to offer. 🏔️🚣‍♂️🌲

🚣 Peak Paddleboarding Season at Causey Reservoir

The warm weather has arrived and Causey Reservoir is already seeing strong early-season visitation. Kayaking, paddleboarding, cliff jumping, and wildlife viewing continue to make this one of Utah's favorite recreation destinations. 🛶

🚵 Explore the Valley Trails

With the mild winter and early snowmelt, many mountain trails are already accessible. This is a fantastic time to get out and enjoy hiking, trail running, mountain biking, and ATV adventures before the heat of July arrives.

🎣 Fishing Around Pineview & Causey

Fishing remains excellent throughout the valley with anglers reporting success at both reservoirs. Early mornings and evenings have been especially productive.

🚧 Pineview Reservoir Update

If you're planning a Pineview day this summer, plan ahead.

The Port Ramp Marina and the popular Windsurfer Beach area remain closed through 2026 while major improvements are underway. Portions of the Pineview West Trail are also closed. Visitors should expect heavier traffic and limited parking throughout the summer. Anderson Cove, Cemetery Point, Middle Inlet, and Pelican Beach remain open.

Causey Reservoir is also receiving parking improvements this year, with new parking areas being added to help address overcrowding during peak summer weekends.

🚨 Remember: Parking enforcement remains active around Pineview and Causey. Illegally parked vehicles can receive significant fines.

One trend we're continuing to see throughout Ogden Valley is strong interest in recreational land and cabin properties.

Many buyers are realizing that owning a piece of the mountains means having a private basecamp for all their adventures. Whether it's a cabin lot, off-grid getaway, or future dream home site, properties near Pineview, Causey, and the surrounding mountains continue to attract buyers looking for space, privacy, and year-round recreation.

With trails opening earlier and recreation season arriving sooner than expected, more people are getting out and experiencing the lifestyle firsthand. 🌲🏕️
